Roger waters, band member of Pink Floyd, wrote almost the entire album of â€Å"The wall†, one of Pink Floyd’s most popular albums, a top three sellers, with over 23 million records sold. He was the singer, songwriter and bassist for Pink Floyd. David Gilmour wrote the music while he was working on a solo album in 1978. He brought it to â€Å"The Wall† album sessions and Waters wrote lyrics for it. Gilmour believed that the song, â€Å" comfortably numb† could be divided into 2 sections: Dark and light. The light parts that begin â€Å" When I was a child, â€Å" which Gilmour sings, the dark parts are, â€Å"hello is there anybody in there?† parts, which are sung by Roger Waters. The movie, â€Å"The wall,† was released in 1982. It’s shown as one huge music video, for each song. One of the movie’s scenes depicts the song, â€Å"comfortably numb†, and is known to be one of the most important songs to the album â€Å"The Wall.† The song signifies a huge part in Pink’s life, showing how the events that happened to the band member’s impacted their lives, including many of Roger Water’s real life struggles. Pink is the character of the band members and Roger Waters himself. The song starts out with, a voice saying, â€Å"Hello is there anybody out there?† Just nod if you can hear me, is there anybody home?† Anybody home is referring to the feeling of insanity that Pink is experiencing.
